Birchwood Farms

We heard from Anna Kay of Birchwood Farms in Dover, NH.
It was so enjoyable speaking with Anna this morning about her family's farm and the plants she enjoys raising there. Of course part of the conversation was about the replacement handle for the Clarington Forge Rabbiting Spade that, when repaired will continue to be an extension of Anna's inner gardener.
At Birchwood Farms you will find a great selection of the finest Daylillies, Hostas and Peonies.
You will also get to know one the nicest gardeners around.

Strapped garden forks delayed...

And...we're back! It was fun to get 15+ inches of snow in March, and glad to say it's mostly gone now.

In other news, the Clarington Forge Strapped Garden Fork is again out of stock. These are hand crafted in England so the demand sometimes outpaces production. Made famous by a brief article in the Wall Street Journal last spring, it continues to be a very popular item. We apologize if you are waiting to receive yours, it will be worth the wait and we hope you get it before spring progresses too much!

If you do not want to wait, some alternatives to the strapped garden fork are the standard digging fork, or the longer handled digging fork, or really any fork from Clarington; the WW Mfg US made heavy duty yet lightweight garden fork, and of course our Unbreakable Broad Fork now available in 3 sizes.

Clarington Forge

We are pleased to offer the Clarington Forge brand of classic English garden tools, hand made in England. These are the tools originally called Bulldog and marketed by Smith & Hawken back when they were still an independent company.
These tools are the standard by which all other garden tools are measured. The Digging Fork and Digging Spade were invented by the Cistercian monks craftsmen at what is now called Clarington Forge in Lancashire over 800 years ago! All tools are manufactured using a unique specification steel which results in exceptionally strong tool heads with the flexibility to absorb all the shock and pressure of hard work, without distorting or breaking.
The ash handles are strong and beautifully crafted, and replaceable if that ever becomes necessary.
If you are a serious gardener or landscaper, do yourself the favor of owning these classic tools. Perfect for planting, tilthing, double digging and all the necessary garden chores that become a pleasure when using the right tools.
